(PBR), an all-volunteer Wisconsin nonprofit established in 2000 to foster basic biotic research in prairies and savannas, is funding grants up to $1000 to\u00a0individuals for the study of any grassland taxon anywhere in the USA.\u00a0\u00a0Supporting both natural history and experimental science, they are especially eager to support independent researchers (those lacking institutional support), but anyone having a U.S. Social Security number may apply.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, PBR expects to fund at least 12 grants. To apply, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/prairiebioticresearch.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prairiebioticresearch.org<\/a> and download a proposal form, instructions, and a sample researcher agreement form that winners of this competition must sign.
