Central Chapter Forms Team to Fight Invasives
INPAWS Central Chapter is reactivating the Invasives Swat
Team, which was not active in 2011. This group takes part in invasive
removal efforts at parks and nature preserves in central Indiana, mostly in the
Indianapolis area. In the past, volunteer days have been organized at
Eagle Creek, Holliday Park and Woolen’s Gardens (Indy Parks), Glick Nature
Preserve and Meltzer’s Woods (CILTI), and Cool Creek Park (Hamilton County
Parks).
It’s a great way to get some exercise, have some fun, and help
our natural areas battle invasives. Anyone interested in helping with
this effort, contact me at pastpres@inpaws.org. Also let me know if you are available weekdays, weekends, or both, and any suggestions that you have for locations for future volunteer days.
