The Monroe County – Identify and Reduce Invasive Species (MC-IRIS) group, a partner of INPAWS is hosting a fun and informative day next Saturday, June 7 that will teach you how to manage your land and make it as healthy and diverse as possible. We’ll have lots of talks, hikes and demonstrations on how to identify and control invasive plant species, but we’ll also have-
- Chef Daniel Orr from FARMbloomington as our Invasive Chef, cooking up invasive plants for your tasting pleasure
- Tessa French showing you how to make home decorations out of invasive vines
- A wide variety of native plants for sale by Stranger’s Hill Organics
- Kevin Tungesvick talking about the changes to your landscape you can expect from climate change, and how you can prepare
- Kay Yatskievych speaking on how to identify Indiana native plants through the web, apps, and pdfs
- Natalie George talking about how to landscape to draw birds to your yard
- Learn how to propagate native plants from Phil Oser
- Talk to the Invasive Killer Panel, experts who can give you advice on how to control invasive plants on your land

The event is at The Warehouse in Bloomington (1525 S. Rogers St.) and runs from 10 am to 2 pm, with food for sale by The Big Cheeze and Crimson Crepes food trucks. Join us! We ask that you register, which you can do here.
