POLLINATORS NEED YOUR HELP!
Clear Choices Clean Water is hosting TWO upcoming events to celebrate its newest campaign – POLLINATORS!
The first is a free showing of Hometown Habitat – Stories of Bringing Nature Home featuring renowned biologist, Douglas Tallamy! The viewing will take place at at Flix Brewhouse in Carmel on April 18 at 6:30pm (seating and food/beverage orders begin at 6:00pm). Seating is limited – reserve your seat today! The second event is a Give Back Night at Metazoa Brewery on April 19 from 6:00-8:30pm. Metazoa Brewery has crafted a special beer just for this occasion! Come share a pint of this unique ‘nectar’ and learn how you can support Clear Choices Clean Water’s fast-growing efforts to help people protect pollinators at home. No registration is required.

- Pollinators—everything from bees to birds to bats—help create about 30% of the crops we eat? They also aid in the reproduction of almost all wild plants.
- Honey bees alone account for nearly $20 billion worth of products every year, and our native pollinators, like bumblebees and hoverflies, contribute even more.
- Pollinator populations are in a steady decline due to a combination of habitat loss, pesticide toxicity, disease, and parasites.
- The rusty patch bumblebee became the first bee to listed as endangered in the United States.
Native plants are part of the solution to this crisis. They re-establish the habitat that pollinators rely on, providing the nectar, seed, and shelter that keeps the process running. Native plants also do not require the use of chemicals such as herbicides and pesticides to maintain their beauty.
Clear Choices Clean Water is proud to partner with the White River Alliance, Hoosier Environmental Council, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, The Nature Conservancy, and Purdue Pesticide Programs to make the Metazoa Brewery Give Back Night possible and the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District and Hamilton County Parks & Recreation for helping sponsor the screening at Flix Brewhouse and promote this important work.
