Second Sunday Nature Exploration Walks at Ouabache Trails Park – Update and Upcoming “Virtual Walk”

The Second Sunday Nature Exploration Walk for April 13 is canceled, due to the coronavirus outbreak. The status of the May 10 walk is undetermined at this time. Updates will be sent and posted.

All walks normally take place at Ouabache Trails Park, just north of Vincennes, Indiana.

There will be “virtual walk” shared on April 13, with the theme “Early Spring Wildflowers”. On that date, photos and other materials will be posted so that the public can take a “virtual” walk to see and learn about April wildflowers of Ouabache Trails Park, and also to enable people to use materials to do their own “real” walk on the same trails while practicing social distancing.

The “Virtual Early Spring Wildflower Walk” will appear on the Facebook page “The Nature of Knox County, Indiana” (which anyone may join) as well as on a blog called “Terri of the Trails”, which can be accessed by going to terriofthetrails.blogspot.com . It will also be sent via email. To be added to the email list (or to ask questions about the walks), contact leapingfrog55@yahoo.com . The Virtual Walk will not appear until April 13.

For more information, people may also leave a voice message (no text) at 812-881-8987.

All Second Sunday Nature Exploration Walks, real or virtual, are offered by local Master Naturalist Terri Talarek King, who encourages everyone who is able to still get out and enjoy Nature and get fresh air and exercise. Events are free, require no registration, and are suitable for all ages.
