Indiana Phenology is a young nonprofit that engages individuals, schools and groups in documenting seasonal changes (aka phenology) in common native plants in Indiana, helping researchers study the impacts of a changing environment on people and ecosystems. Each year we work with around six interns.

Schoolyard Phenology Project: The intern will assist in hosting a spring student research forum for students participating in our Schoolyard Phenology program. Additional projects may include designing educational materials, curriculum development and engaging schools in our programs.
Backyard Observers Project: The intern will help maintain communication with Backyard Observers, create educational resources and will assist with planning and presenting virtual workshops.
Phenology Trail Project: The intern assists with all aspects of our phenology trail program. Task will include outreach to potential partner sites, designing promotional material, and assisting with planning and presenting virtual workshops and training.
Each part-time, unpaid position is for 15-20 hours per week. Hours are flexible with work done remotely. The ideal applicant is hard working, independent and creative, with strong communication skills. Love of nature is a must. Spring internship runs Feb – May.
