Urgent Action Request: Indiana Wetlands Under Assault (Again!)
On Thursday March 23 a surprise amendment was added to an unrelated bill, SB 414, by Rep Doug Miller and supported by testimony by the Builders Association.
The amendment reduces the number of wetlands that will qualify as class 2 or class 3, further degrading the health of our wetlands in Indiana.
This amendment to SB 414 comes just months after the Indiana Wetland Task Force issued its report highlighting the dire state of wetlands throughout Indiana and how vital protecting them is to the health of our state.
Our state legislators need to hear from constituents who want wetlands protected. Please reach out to your state representative TODAY, and urge them to OPPOSE this legislation or to remove the wetland language. This bill could be considered by the full Indiana House as soon as Monday, March 27, – so time is of the essence! Please call your elected officials and demand they stand up for YOUR wetlands. These continued assaults on our state heritage must be pushed back on.
Take Action:
