Helen Steussy of Henry County-RIPS invites people who want to get outside to help out at 100 Days of Honeysuckle in New Castle, every day from 2:00-4:00.  This is a great way to learn how to identify invasive plants in the winter and gain experience cutting them down and treating the stumps.

They provide tools and spray. Contact Helen at hsteussy@comcast.net or check out the HC-RIPS Facebook page for more info.

Here’s their schedule:

  • Mondays Wilbur Wright Fish and Wildlife Area, Section 2
  • Tuesdays Wilbur Wright Fish and Wildlife Area, Section 2
  • Wednesdays are Wild – various locations
  • Thursdays Expo Woods south of Memorial Park
  • Fridays Expo Woods south of Memorial Park
  • Saturdays Westwood Park campgrounds
  • Sundays Westwood Parks campgrounds
