Grand Opening: Green’s Bluff Nature Preserve’s New Trail
The Nature Conservancy invites the South-Central Chapter of INPS to enjoy refreshments, remarks from TNC and our partner, the Hoosier Hikers Council, about the new trail. Then there are guided hikes, birdwatching, a bring-your-own picnic lunch, and a trail naming activity. We are so happy to have added 5 more miles to the southern portion of this Owen County nature preserve. Features of the trail include: ephemeral waterfalls, lowland forests, spring wildflower displays, a fern covered forest floor, sandstone and limestone geology, and many species of forest interior birds.

Midwest Herbaria Plant Lists
Interested in matching your landscaping plants to the local flora? IU’s Deam Herbarium, through the Consortium of Midwest Herbaria, has compiled plant lists for Indiana counties, ecoregions, state parks and nature preserves to assist you in determining what plants are suitable for your area (there’s also a list of invasives to avoid).
