Stop the Sale of Callery Pear in Indiana!
Sign our petition to rid Indiana of these invasives!
As you may know, we have already banned 44 invasive species through the Indiana Terrestrial Plant Rule ( https://www.in.gov/…/terrestrial-invasive-species-plants/). We are hoping that 2024 will be the year that we add the “Dirty Dozen” to the Indiana Terrestrial Plant Rule:
- Callery Pear
- Norway Maple
- Sweet Autumn Clematis
- Burning Bush
- Moneywort
- Chinese Maiden Grass
- Wild Parsnip
- Lesser Celandine
- Glossy Buckthorn (including Fine Line Buckthorn)
- Spreading Hedge Parsley
- Japanese Hedge Parsley
- European Highbush Cranberry
We cannot do this without your help. Here is a link to a petition, created by Ellen Jacquart, INPS State Board Member & Secretary, with the goal of getting 12 more species added to the Terrestrial Plant Rule in 2024. https://chng.it/b8wX9KfXQr
The petition will go to Governor Holcolmb and hopefully empower the IDNR to ban the sale of these 12 additional species.
Please sign the petition, share the link, and help us fight against invasive plants in Indiana!
